The reason I dont mount rodents is because of disease! I am so paranoid about it. i guess its because I have 2 boys and I worry about passing stuff onto them. but yes, good hygene is TANTAMOUNT to any work you do with raw animals or animal products! Stay safe and stay up to date with local warnings! Get those rabies shots as soon as something happens that may be suspicious. New shots have been out now for 10 years, no more needles in the stomach! LOL

well jim

Jim:

You might buy a box of L or XL blue nitrile gloves from Harbor Freight for $6.99. Once you get used to using them, you will never skin anything bare handed again. If for no other reason, they keep hands from smelling like fecal material, which is nice at mealtime!

YOU CAN WEAR

well..well! now yall got me smilling again! yes there are times when i skin animals without gloves, cause i was too damn dumb to throw a set in the truck. but i do wear them as often as i can! it is best and a practice that should be made routine and instinctive. i was wearing leather gloves the day the ringtail cat dove into me..was trying to release it from a trap when he nailed me. right through the glove and my finger. then he ran off. well...that was 20 years or so ago. guess he wasn't rabbid...fear of the shots in my stomach was worse than dying! jim
