Bear Drying time

I have a bear that is in my garage unheated and has been salted for about a month and is not really drying up much. The temp is above freezing in there. How dry should it really feel before I fold it up to get shipped out to the tannery.

You could easily send it after just a few days.Low temperatures and humidity might keep a bear from being flint-hard,but that doesn't mean that the salt hasn't done it's job.Bears are greasy and don't get as stiff as deer, elk, moose etc..Your bear is definitely ready to send.
