Lowly Coot

I've mounted a number of birds over the years as a hobbist but yesterday I mounted a coot/mudheen. If anyone wants to know what type of bird would be a good one to start with I would vote coot. They are plentiful for one unless you live in a desert. I have never fleshed an easier or tough skinned bird than them. You will have to make your own form which is a good lessen and there feathers cover very well.
I'm actually altering mine for a friend. He has several "bar birds" at his place. Those are birds like a spoony with a wigeon head, makes a quit handsome bird. I am putting some fangs on this one so it will be a Sabortooth Coot.
Try one, worse case senerio, you ruin a coot. Dave
