RULE # 1, do not lay any specimen anywhere a dog can find it. Garage floor, piknic table, shed floor, on the porch, in the lawn or anywhere else an animal can find it. The archives have storys of things like this happening. If they are just skulls of common animals, coyote, coon, fox, you can replace with another skull to save your skin. But if they had antlers on them, you better man up and take the spanking from the potential customer. You have a 50/50 chance that he will be ok with the situation and life goes on, or you will just learn a new lesson.
Rule # 2, you cant win em all

Steve,

Pinchback Reproductions makes a nice line of reproduction skull, open eye socket, full detail and 3/4 wooden blocks for anchor point.
Comes with a sheet that offers instructions.

The fact is, "freeking" little dog skulls also bleach out very white. Perhaps you wish to try this. Save a deer skull, bleach a dog skull, I always say...

You can cut the skull caps off those racks and attach them to a similar sized buck skull, putty and paint to blend in the cuts.I've done several reproduction sheep sets of sheep horns this way on real skulls and it looks pretty cool.
