Hey all, first i would like to say that i have been learning tons of info on this wonderful site. Now i did my first 2 mounts the mink in october, and the deer head in febuary. These are my first 2 mounts ever, and i had a GREAT! time doing them. I know there are lots wrong with them, but i am 14 and would love to keep doing this for many years so i got a good young start on it. Thanks, any suggestions welcomed. Kevin

I tried the URLs that you left and can't get to your pictures. Please try again as I would like to look at them. At 14, wish I would have known what I wanted to do.

These pictures are simply not good enough to make any real assessment it is impossible to even make out the eyes on the deer. From a distance the ears seem odd. But I really cannot tell.
Same with the mink. The overall effect is nice thought. sorry I can't be of more help.
with what i can see
First mounts both are good, the deer especially. Looks like on the deer the inside of the ears is not painted? The nose pad looks a bit off. The mink looks a bit lumpy in the body, the habitit setting is nice. I imagine you have probably found that full body mounts on small mammels are more difficult that larger shoulder mounts. Next time you post pics try to take more close ups of specific areas of the mounts. Overall for your first mounts they are very good. You'll get better with each one you do.
Nice habitat on the mink, you have got a good start in this science. You will find you will always be learning. Use your references pics in detail of your specimens. Like forming the clay around nose and mouth, and putting a dab of liqua tan on that minks nose to give wet look. Just moisten it a little first. Good Luck
Kevin,
If these are your first mounts, you should have great success in achieving accurate (and artistic) wildlife representation in your work. Reference will be your greatest ally, and should be your most used tool, no matter your experience . . . strive for excellence, whether you are doing commercial or competitive work. Look forward to seeing where you will be at in a year or two.

They look great. Ears seem a bit odd, though. I'm your age and guarantee you I couldn't do better. I can't even get an antler mount totally correct. Great job.
I THINK YOUR MOUNTS SUCK
