Hide

I was monting a deer head Sunday and put the hide on the form only to find the cape was to short. No matter how much I stretched it it would not cover the brisket area. I took off the cape cleaned the glue off. The cape is tanned with liqua tan and was in the freezer should I let it dry now and rehydrated it when the form is altered or a new one comes in to replace it?

Leave it in the Freezer until you need it.

Just cut a few inches off of the form so it fits and put a new back board on it . Rick

Freeze it just like it is. Then cut the form off, you can even save the back board and cut it down and glue it to the form after you shortened it.
YOu could have just shortened it while you were already mounting it, then glued a board on the back and finished mounting it. It would only have taken a few minutes to shorten the form and be done.
