Help on best way to pack a bird in a case?

Submitted by Mark Wyndhma-Jones on 4/23/06 at 3:50 PM. ( m_wyndhamjones@hotmail.com ) 62.255.32.10

Possibly a very stupid enquiry but I need someone to advise me on how best to package (ready for posting) a bird in a wooden case which has a glass front.

I worry about the bird becoming detached from its mount and also the glass breaking.

Also is there a special delivery method best used for such items?

Any suggestions appreciated.

Thanks,
Mark

delivering in a car, the way I would do it is to take a kitchen Bag and pour two part foam and then tie the bag real good so it doesn't spill all over, the case I would also cover with a garbage bag and pop corn or bubble wrapp, then place the case in top of the bag with growing foam, repeat the process on teh sides now and on top, the foam will grow and take the shape of the case, and will make a very resistant packaging, the cardboard box must be thick cardboar so it doesn't blow out of shape.
You can buy this type of packaging foam from shipping supply companys it is 2 lBS so it doesn't turn very hard.
