Try the orange button.
With some animals you have to cut the legs down to the feet to get them out and yes you so it up before it's mounted. It's easy to leave the nails on, the only way they would come off is if you cut them off. When you skin the feet just pull the toe bones all the way through till you get to the nail and cut the bone off. www.Breakthroughmagazine.com has a book for $25.00 on mounting small mammals such as fox and what not. Shows you how to skin, clean and mount and everything else you will need to know. Probably a good investment. As far as tanning just find a tannery that you like, cover the hide in salt for 24 hours, shake it off and salt it again (use ALOT of salt! non iodized) and leave it salt until it dries kind of hard. If you want to tan it yourself don't salt it, freeze it, and order some krowtann 2000. If there is anything else I can help you with please email me. I'm a beginner but I'll help you as much as you can. If you use the orange search button and type in how to skin you should be able to find enough info. on how to skin them out if you don't want to order the book. Otherwise just scour the internet, I know there are quite a few sites that have diagrams showing how to do it.
