I have a medium sized wooden box with dovetail joints, 1 handle on the left hand side and it has a small circular ivory/bone inlay with "Rowland Ward 167 Piccadilly" on it. Im just enquiring as to if anyone knows what it was for. Its very plain but i searched for rowland ward and am coming up blank on all fronts as to whether it was used by the company or simly to store something they produced. Any help would be appreciated as i cant find anything about it or what it was for.

He was also heavily covered in Chris Frosts' History of British Taxidermy. Numerous brochures exist and he is heavily collected. His brother Edwin wrote a text circa 1978 which Rowland made is own and published editions for the next 40 odd years. His father Henry worked for John James Audubon in America for a while before going back to Endland. Many web sites mention him in good detail - for example Kenny Everett in Truro and the Taxidermy4cash website.
