If my "small group of followers" also responded in kind, you must have really asked a dumbass question. I doubt they "follow" me in doing anything. if you are new to the site, and are already wanting to complain about anyone's smart replies to various posts, then you need to go ahead and stay away.
Yes, George and others have been known to make 'stinging' replies to posts, if you take the time to look through the archives, you will notice that the excellent guidance given far outweighs the sarcastic ones. I have asked numerous questions on this forum, and in many cases were asked AFTER I searched the archives... many of the replies were posted from the position of experience, and upon reading the response, all I could say to my self was well DUHH...
this forum is for learning. the main tendancy for someone getting a stinging reply on this forum tends to be towards persons asking questions for the umpteenth time instead of looking in the archives via the search button.
the really stinging banter on here is usually between a small circle of persons who know each other pretty well, and they shoot quips back and forth.
If you felt slighted due to a response you got, or ones you have read, take an extra minute and go and run a 'search' on that topic and check your results.
as to saying that Geaorge does not know what he is doing, then you need to stay away and maybe check in on another hobby. George and the other taxidermists on here are providing information to those of us new to the art/profession based on years and years of trial and error. in many cases, there are no best methods, the replies are based on the process of elimination based on thier experience.
I have asked questions and been informed that I am heading down a rough road with my intended plan, and have been grateful for the info. in many cases I was frustrated with the reply, but upon further contemplation of my plan, realized that they were right.
persons reply to this forum with the intention of helping. if you have gotten 'butt hurt' by a reply, then so be it. you will get this often if you are so thin skinned that any criticism chaps your hide.
critiques of your work only make you better at the craft. if you cannot take that for what it is and thereby make corrections, then you need to find another hobby
PS -George, I still look forward to any and all guidance that you and 'your close circle ' want to provide.

You are absolutely right. In fact WITHOUT all this information, taxidermy ain't rocket science. Jean Lavalee, Richard Christoforo, Jim Marsico and thousands of others like me didn't get here by the Intenet. For many years taxidermists thought it was a plaque to even talk to one another. We all had ideas that differed to some degree, but we all got here. Then along comes this tool and we use it, but if those guys are like me, they're still a little amazed at the lack of determination and forethought we see here. Many come here with that "Yesterday I couldn't spell taxidermist but today I am one" attitude expecting others to fawn all over them and blow roses up their asses. And the thing that tickles me is that there ARE people on here who do that, but they NEVER offer any real advice to help these people, just blow roses.
So " * " is right in the concept that the information is now readily available. What he's WRONG about is that everyone has the initiative to FIND that information. As long as this site is up, they'll always be here to ask stupid questions, get smartassed answers, cry a little, and then be coddled by the "Bob's" of this world. Life if good.
Stop your whining, it must have been a realy dumb question to have that many smartass responses. I wasnt aware George had a cult following but if he has I'm sure gonna join in. I could put up with George to learn some of the things he knows. You probaly asked something like how to attach a European mount or somethiing equally stupid. If a smart ass response to one of your questions is all that it takes to keep you of this information supergiant then you probaly wouldnt have lasted long on here Goerge or No George. is definetely a good source of information. However, I would rather not be answered by him than be put down. God's advice, "love your neighbor as yourself" definetely tells us something great. Answer questions as you would like yours to be answered or don't answer at all. It's as simple as that. What do you say to that George? I already expect a comeback. Some of us aren't as knowledgable as you, George. If I was I would use it to help others in a gracious manner.

Your source is incorrect. God didn't say any such thing. Jesus said that. That's good in theory, but even Jesus hated the money changers in the temple. Today's politically correct and politically charged world afford many people the lattitude to do many things we don't agree with. I don't play with words like "love" in any philosophical manner. I don't play God. I gave up thoughts of the ministry long ago and I really don't appreciate the implications of how I should react to someone elses opinion of religion. If that's how you feel, thats super, and if you don't want an answer from me, all you have to do is skip over it as I always ALWAYS leave my name and address on a posting. If you look, however, there are a number of posts that I felt sorry in poster not getting ANY answer and I answered him or her. Maybe not by blowing roses, but I gave an answer. It seems silly, even with your religion, to rather have no answer at all than one that didn't make you feel special. That's a rather sad commentary when I think about it, but that's YOUR choice and you're welcome to it. So much for loving YOUR neighbor.

I commend you on your excellent insights for George. I agree with you. George needs to change some things, but he's a great source of information and is a great guy deep inside.
I thought there would be another response in no time.
Fundamentalists wear a little thin with me. They find fault in others that they themselves possess. They cover their flaws by clutching a Bible and judging others with impugnity. I still have some questions as to why if God had actually sent a son to the world, why he would have not told Moses of that when he wrote the #1 Commandment. (OH, I know YOU have the answer to that. Fundamentalists always do.) If I use the Bible as a source then it is, by what the New Testament and Jesus said, quite all right to "cast my seed into the belly of a wh**e than cast it on to the groung" while overlooking that sticky little #7. So, as I've asked in the past and I continue to ask , KEEP RELIGION TO YOURSELF. That and politics have no place here, and quite frankly, my ego tells me you're in way over your head with me on the subject. I live my life and MY faith, you live your life and your faith and we'll get along fine. You don't like my answers, don't read them. You want to go through life ignorant, then only you can enjoy those consequences.

it has nothing to do with religion. It's simple logic. What good comes out of putting others down, besides that self-righteous feeling that comes from deep inside your sad self when you feel superior to others? That only shows me that you're an uncontent old man who has nothing better to to do than make others feel stupid and low in order to gratify himself. You must feel bad about yourself in order to treat others like that. It has nothing to do with your belief in God. The truth is that it's a better world when we are all treated equal. I never called myself a perfect person because I believed in God. You said I did. Now, cut the pride and make yourself feel good inside by helping others improve their skills and self confidence. Help them feel better about themselves. I guarantee you'll be happier, and so will everyone else.

The word should be "uncontented" or "malcontent" (I'm neither) and I'm certainly not a "sad self". You and I obviously grew up in different worlds and MY generation put men on the moon, invented transistors and silicone chips, cell phones and color TV's, diesel autos and nuclear reactors. We believed in "spare the rod and spoil the child" but unfortunately there was a gap in there where your parents never knew hardships and you were coddled since birth. There's a real world out there where people actually get their hands cut off for stealing and beheaded for talking about their politicians. You've only experienced that through Newsweek. So don't bring your snot nosed mentality on here and try to make me feel guilty. If the message is valuable it shouldn't matter that you don't like the messenger or the horse he rode to give it to you. Take the message and stop sniveling. I AM good inside and I don't need your stamp of approval to validate that. You are the type of person who'd rather have bad information served with cavier than good information served on burned toast. If you do your homework, check the archives, and still have problems, you'll get the best of both those worlds from me. what baffles me is, why don't you read over my messages if they bother you? You always have to prove yourself to others. That shows unconfidence in your beliefs.
