I was wondering how to tell what legnth of driftwood to buy for a certain size of fish so the wood does not over power the mount.I guess what I am say is that I have a 29" walleye to practice on and if it comes out looking good I want to put it on driftwood and I am new to this and do not know how to figure out what size to get.I am going to get it from Van Dykes.

...but because every piece is unique it's going to be tough to be certain. You best bet would be to get a sample set - or one or two pieces of each size. Then, you'll have a couple on hand to test fit (and have for other mounts)...
