I have a friend that is due to return to the US of A from Afghanistan.
somehow he has managed to procure an old set of Ibex horns (he sent me a pic) and has asked me to do a simple horn mount for him.
I have struck out on finding a commercial mannikin for horn plates (like those for whitetail and elk etc. is there one for bighorn sheep that would be comparable to get the proper offset from the plaque (I have not seen any in the various catalogues). or am I to expect to have to resort to fabrication of my own in this instance?
for those of you with experience with horns, (I have zero experience with horns) is there any special treatment / color req'd for an Ibex? I have been searching the archives for the posts regarding waxes to use on bighorn sheep to restore sheen to the horns, and am going to follow this information...
Any replies greatly appreciated
