The best way is the one YOU can make work.
Each person will have their favorite way.
Best is a value that is subjective, there is never anything nor anyway that is best for everyone.
just looking for suggestions . would like to do as good a job as i can . even though it will be my first . i dont want it to look that way . like to try to do things right the first time . even if i have to ask for help ...thanks mark
Mark,
Undertaker is right in that you will find that certain ways will work for one but not the other. I will tell you though that I've done quite a few raccoons and what I do (once again try it, you may or may not like it) is I cut the end of the nose on the form off. After fleshing down the hide I place a small ball of critter clay into the nose of the raccoon (some people place the clay on the form and shape it) then mount. I've used dp and bondo with great results but make sure the hide is thinned down and degreased. I used to use Kemal 4 but now I just use dawn dish washing liquid. Hope that gives you some ideas and good luck.
Mike
