I am setting my work area up in my basement. In the basement I have a wood burning furnace, but was wondering the safety issues with the laquer paint. I like the laquer base, but was wondering if there are any safety issuse, fires or explosion, if I was gonna be painting approx. 15' feet or so from the furnace. THanks for the input. jrw

Yea 15ft from a source of ignition using flamable paints. Besides most basements aren't well ventilated. Learn to like acrylics.

But I believe that water based paints can also be explosive if fumes accumilate and there is an ignition source.
