I want to make my own mache and I found all sorts of recipes but people seem to mix up dextrin vs dextrine, which is right and where can I buy it? Thanks Pete

Dextrine can be purchased at most of the major suppliers:Research,McKenzie,Van Dykes.my recipe is half Hi-Fiber,half dextrine. To this add app.5% to 10% white Elmer's glue. The Elmer's vastly improves the paste. It makes it stronger, smoother and less brittle and grips as well as any of the miracle pastes that cost a lot more.Use hot tap water to mix. After using the paste, scrape down the insides of your bucket, leveling the paste and press a layer of cling wrap across the surface so no air gets to it.If you get all the air out,it won't get moldy. Most store-bought,pre-mixed pastes have hazardous chemicals added to prevent mold. This mixture doesn't have that.
