What exactly is a replacment nose? What is it's purpose? Im referring to the type you need to install on your form rather than using the one on the form. I'm brand new into this so don't laugh your A_ _ OFF.

It is a plastic(urethane)reproduction of the nose pad and inner nostrils, molded from a real nose. The advantages are that you don't have to thin and prep the nose pad and nostril skin and there is great inner nostril detail.Disadvantages are that you have to attach it to the form in the right position and you have to do some quality finish work to blend the edge of the skin to the plastic nose.It is possible to do a good nose with or without the replacement nose. Each takes skill to do properly. Some people use them all the time, some use them sparingly for competition work etc. and some never use them.I would suggest doing them the traditional way and getting comfortable with the mechanics of mounting an animal and after that becomes easier, then try the artificial nose and see if it works for you.
