This is my second deer mount, did it the other day for my dad and he just can't get over how good I did. Must say I'm pretty pleased with my self but I know it's not perfect. So...let her rip and let me have it, what I did right and most importantly what I did wrong. The ears might look weird but I sat there for an hour with my dad and put them right where he wanted them. These are really bad pics so do the best you can and thanks for looking!

Jess:
Looks great. Just wondering why you have a wire on the ear. If you used clay as a ear butt it should stay in place.
There is clay in the ears but the hide was so wet that it was taking a while for the clay to dry so I put that there just to hold it in the right place until it dries. Should be dry by now though, ws hoping you wouldn't see that! Thanks for the input though!
Hi Jessica
Very good for your second mount, but it's tough to judge without the finish work being done. The eyes appear to be looking in two different directions to me. The tear ducts look odd to me. You are right about the ears...they look 'weird' to me to. Nostrils look too big and check reference again for shape. The pictures aren't the best and it's tough to see all the details. I do know that eyelid shape, eye rotation, nostril shape and symetry are important. Earbutt shape and position, brisket alignment are also things to be careful of. If this helps it looks better than my second deer did.
