I am not a taxidermist.
I just have a quick question about trying to make the feathers on my phesant mount look better. They appear VERY ruffled, with some of the soft under feathers showing. Is their a simple method for a novice to smooth these out? Or do I have to take it to someone to repair?

this sounds like the feather tracks weren't opened up ,or cleaned properly ,did you mount it yourself if so how.
No, I didn't do it myself. I was short on money, and took it to a local guy that "works cheap". So, I am not sure of the method used to prep the feather tracks.
Do you have any advice?
