finished my lifesize fox tonight .just have to finish touchup and paint . and thanks for the bondo tip. i think i was just mixing it wrong on the raccoon . worked great on fox. ok now the question. i am running out or stuff to practice on . will prairie dogs . and such. mount ok w/ dp. with their summer hair. or will it fall out. i really aprecieate all the help from everyone on here . couple of videos and help from here , its going pretty good .. be fine to use dp on.Since you are practicing on stuff why not practice using some McKenzie tan? This would be a great time to try things n before trying to go out and get some clients.

The best way to learn is by trial and error. Get some of the McKenzie tan and see how it works for you. Then later on try some other tans, or even have a hide send out to a tannery. You won't know what works for YOU, unless you give it all a try. Don't be afraid to try new and different things. Taxidermy is not a straight line you can't deviate off. Go down some side branches and see where they lead, in other words, do your experiments and see what happens. You may even come up with a great process you can share with us some day. The sky's the limit Mark.

we,v all started out doing what your doing i agree with Evelyn ,just keep trying new things ,if you have any questions post it on here some one will give you advice .good luck

THANKS. will try the tan . have no intentions of customers . at least it wouldent be for a few years. i have 13 year oud twin daughters that like to hunt . i am just doing this to get good enough to do their stuff. one taxidermy bill i might be able to afford 2 . not going to happen . and they actually like to help . any time we get anything . deer or anything else . they do most of the skinning and cleaning . and they are starting to want to help w/ the taxidermy thing . never know could be good thing for them? thanks again ...
