Get the skin right

If you get the skin in the right place, the grooming should be pretty easy.

Hair set

Assuming your brisket skin fits properly, some type of a hair set is in order. Lots to choose from. I prefer a tooth brush and watered down Dippidy-Do (sp?) hair gel. Once the mount is dry, simply brush the brisket out.

Pictures for referance

Like was said before, " if the skin is in the right place, there is no need for holding the hair in a different direction.
The hair from the arm pits is generally going up, and meets the hair from the neck that comes down. It should flow together right though. If you need to force the hair, you have the skin pulled to tight, or to loose or just in the wrong place.
