Hi, everybody! I have a few Fox questions. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks in advance!
#1- Is a "Cross Fox" a mix between a Red and Gray Fox? Which form would I use?
#2- Does an Arctic Marble Fox fit an Arctic Fox form? ( Same animal, different coloring?)
#3- I am unsure about the length of different Fox legs. Which form ( Red, Gray, Arctic, Kit) would I use for a Silver, Cocoa or Blue Fox?
#4- What forms do you like best? From where? ( WASCO, Van Dykes, Jonas, or Trufitt ) Any other company suggestions?
Thanks to everyone willing to help! I'm excited about some Fox I'm looking at to purchase- really need the help. This will be my first Fox. Thanks again! Love, Ivey

for the longest time. the red, gray artic and kit are the different 'subspecies' of foxes that you need to look at.
it is my understanding, and if I am incorrect here, I am sure that the more experienced people will correct me, but the silver, cocoa and blues are really just different color variations of the red fox. as such, a red fox form should work for you.
...is mearly a color phase of the red fox, as are all the domesticly raised fox. The grey fox, arctic and kit fox are entirely different species, not just subspecies. You are absolutely right, the leg lengths are very different so it is important that you get the correct forms. It's been my experience that wild arctic fox fit the grey fox forms better than they do the "arctic fox" forms from most suppliers. Domesticly raised arctic fox will fit the "arctic fox" forms.
1) cross fox is a cross between red and silver - use red fox form
2)marble fox is a red fox
3) use carcass measurements to order fox forms - all you have mentioned are red fox bodies
4) McKenzie has best forms i have used for foxes - Van Dyke's are good too
A cross fox is NOT a cross between a red and a silver. I have two cross foxes living in a den across from my house. They are red foxes. They have a melanistic phase to their color and when looking down on them from above (they were in my yard one day while I was looking out the second floor window) and they have a black stripe down their backs and a black stripe encircling their front shoulders which gives the appearance of a CROSS.
