Cleaning Deer Antlers

I was recently up in the Isle of Arran, Scotland, and was lucky enough to find a big pair of red deer antlers and skull cap. It is pretty much free of any meat and tissue, but stinks as you would expect. If anyone could tell me a good way of ridding the smell and preserving it, I would much appreciate it.

Use a good degreasing soap

You can soak the antlers in it and use a brush ot clean them up.
You can also boil the skull cap for thirty mins to remove al lthe tissues. A mixture of peroxide and baking soda and a drip of dawn dish soap mixed up together will help remove any lingering oders if washing alone will not work.
