No lisence needed

If these are strictly for yourself, then no, you don't need a lisence. This means that you're not even allowed to do these for a friend or relative at no fee. This was told to me by my local DNR agent who checked at the Federal level to make sure. I know it sounds a bit harsh if you are not charging anyone for your free service, but it would be very hard to prove that you were not charging, (especially if you charged "cash"). The burden of proof would fall on you, and trust me, you'd have a hard time proving otherwise. I also thought I'd share another piece of info with you. If you are doing your own Migratory Bird taxidermy, remember that any bird in your freezer counts towards your daily/total bag limit. Even if the bird is skinned and/or fleshed. As long as it sits in your freezer it counts against your possession limit. If the bird is mounted, then your good to go, and if the bird is dried out on your work bench, than that too is not going to count against your possession limit.

sorry license not lisence

Oops! I wish we could edit these after we hit the submit button! Not just for spelling and grammatical errors, but for heated discussions going the wrong direction as well! LOL!
