Any idea what it weighed?
Almost looks like a wolf from the size of it
...That's an awful small deer, that's no coyote! Brush wolf is just another name for...Coyote. Any idea where this is?
Brush Wolves are not coyotes. They are a cross between a wolf and a coyote. Even if that is a small deer, look at the eye to nose (at least 6 3/4")and compare it to the "wolf". Also look at the size of its feet. It looks like from the website address that it might be from NY. I know that there have been "undocumented" DEC releases of wolves up here. If this is one of them hunter beware, I hear they put tracking devices in them. Best of luck.
Yeah it is in N.Y. in region 9. You can go to the main page here.

I know I seen a road killed wolf up here in northern New York region 6
during last winter. I called the DEC and told them what I seen, They said
I was mistaken. I went back to take a second look and get a picture
of it about an hour after I called them and the wolf? was gone.
You could see in the snow where it was loaded into a vehicle. I guess
they don't want us to know what they are up to.

I just checked the web site and read the small info under the picture
and it was apparently taken in Pa. not N.Y.
This is what it says.
"We don't have much info on this picture sent to us by Sheila Flint
at AACS but it is a 115 pound Coyote taken near Friendsville, PA.
Thanks for the amazing photo Sheila."

It was a domestic wolf that was actually neutered or spayed. Someone raised it and released it. That picture is from 2 or 3 years ago.
