Whats the best turkey video

I am going to try my first turkey and want to mount it in a gobbling out of the strut pose on a limb with a layered tail. I am trying to find a good video but haven't had much luck. Does Cally Morris have any videos out, his turkeys look beatiful. To get that nice layered tail look do you detach the tail feathers and then attach later or do you leave the tail on. Thanks for any info. I have lots of questions that a good video could probabale answer.

He said that he would not produce a turkey mounting video until he turns 40 years old. He said it. Therefore, you will have to wait, but if you get the chance to watch him do one up at a State Association Show somewhere, go see it done. As far as the best video, it would be Cally's, but even then if you had the "best" video, your first turkey will look like a road kill standing up. You have to do a half dozen before you get one to look like a turkey at the end of any video. You may have to watch 3 or 4 videos to get different ideas and tips. Buy them, watch them, and sell them. Get as much info as you can because your going to need it.

You should watch several videos, as everyone has a slightly different way of mounting. Frank Newmyer has a good one, sold thru WASCO. Van Dykes sell one with Peter Gierke, using the real head, and making a wrapped body. His methods are crude, as far as I'm concerned, but you will still learn from it. Breakthrough Magazine have several great articles, featuring Call Morris. Get the Back issues,66, 67, and 68. Lots of great reading and information there.
As Mr. T pointed out, your first bird will look, let's say.., "rough", but as with everything else, they will start looking better with each mount you do.
Good luck!
Bill
