want to ask this but here it goes. When measuring a ounce of solids {like salt} in a liquid measuring cup is 1 ounce = 1 fl oz.? I have a fish tan recpie and I wasnt sure how to measure out 1 oz of ingredients. Thanks in advance for wasting your time on this ridiculous question.

Use a scale for measuring solids. I picked up a nice digital one at Target for less than $20.00.

A fluid measurement is not necessarily equal a dry measurement!

In most dictionaries there is a table of measurements for conversions.

This is because the specific gravity/atom weights of most materials or liquids are different although they may have the same volume. Here is a an extreme analogy- A gallon volume of lead will not weigh the same as a gallon of water.

I bought a dry and wet measuring cup at Food Lion. One side of the cup for dry and other for wet. Hope it helps
