I stumbled onto your forum while searching an answer and I hope you can help. I have recently been gifted with an old skull. It appears to be a deer. The problem is that the skull was ill treated before I received it. It was left outside and is stained with dirt as well as old insect egg-casings. Also the skull seams are not 'solid'(there is a millimeter (?) space between the seams). I was wondering (and I have searched the questions already posted without luck) if anyone could tell me how best to clean the skull to something closer to white without damaging the already fragile bone edges.
