I purchased a dried coyote hide from a trapper, and had it profesionally tanned. I don't know the original measurements of the coyote that the hide came from, but I do know that the coyote measured 63" (nose to tail tip) dried, and now 55" tanned. Eye to nose measurement (tanned) is 3-3/4". I want to prepare a form for this coyote, so I purchased one of the biggest forms that Research Mannikins had in stock. Eye to nose measurement on this form is just slightly under 4".
I am afraid that once rehydrated, my coyote will be too big for the form. How much stretch should I get with a rehydrated coyote? 25% or so?
Any suggestions? Never done a life-sized mount before. Thanks!

if you ordered a form than go ahead and prefit it to that form ,IF a good fit than mount it,If not than try to order one closer to size using the skin and form as a reference point.big or small ,McKenzie has a wide rang of coyote forms,
the way to order the correct form is to rehydrate - get skin ready and order the RIGHT form - your way might be ok if you want to learn to modify forms
