I am working on a longhorn plaque. I rotted the cores out in a bag outside and when i took them out of the bag, about 4" up the bases of the horns are flaking off. It is just the outside layer. not the acatual "bone" itself. Is this normal and is there any recomendation for repair. Thanks, Ryan
