This is a common question that's in the archives under the orange "SEARCH" icon to the left. Antelope hair is hollow and the blood left on a cape is sucked up inside the hair by osmosis. The hair can be bleached if it's in a white area where the bleach will also work on the blood, but as far as washing it out, it's not going to happen. I warn all my hunters about this potential and that they should make every effort to wash the blood off immediately after taking the game.

On the bottle of stop rot that it will "float" blood out of hair. Research and Ven Dykes sells some stuff that will get it out.

Big difference Gina

Floating blood OUT of hair and removing blood from INSIDE hair. Epo-Grip Bloodout/Degreaser is as strong a soap as you'll find and the alkali is high enough, it will make hair fall out. It still won't get the blood out of antelope hair. Stop-Rot does some pretty amazing stuff. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that it works, but everything else just won't.

Washing the cape when it is taken is best

But,... If the animal is not skinned and fleshed and aslteddry or frozen, the wet skin could slip very fast on a Antelope. The hollow hair is thick and long, but where it attaches to the skin, it is about 4 times as thin where it enters the hair follical. It can and will slip if given the chance.
I tell my hunters on antlelope. to wash the skin of blood only if it is on the front half, and then to skin and flesh and pour rubbing alcohol on the skin and then laying it out to dry a little while. Salting the skin as well if then remembered to bring the salt.
When the blood is fresh, peroxide will take it out almost totally .
I haev had really god results with it. I use the weak stuff, not the skull bleaching type.
