Has any one ever taxidermied a domestic goat or sheep be for. I guess my question is does any one have a form for a domestic goat/ sheep and how do you go about pricing this?
This lady called me and asked if I could taxidermy there family pet ( the goat) I told her I would research it and get back to her but I would need to see the pet before any price would be giving.
Any advice would be helpful.
Thank you every one

You'd be using a mouflon or corsican ram mannikin as your "domestic" sheep. And a sheep mannikin with some modifications is what youll probably have to do since goat mannikins are nearly non existant. Im aware of two like I said. One is Van Dykes and one in Research I think. So pose choices and sizes are very limited. Domestic goat is a broad term too. What breed of goat are we talking? Well, as far as pricing, boy thats open to great debate. Charge YOUR price. since you're in the beginners category and since you asked the questions you have, it sounds like it might be more of a challenge than you are ready for at this stage. I dont know? But if you are confident then go for it.
Also use a chamios form for a nanny or small male with a little work.
I didnt believe it either until I did one.
You don't say, but I assume she wants lifesize. If I were doing a domestic goat I would look at whitetail forms and just modify the head as needed. For sure, save the whole body for comparison to the manikin--makes alterations MUCH easier. This job is not much different than a deer but any lifesize mount is going to be more involved than a shoulder mount. Enjoy, Aaron H.
