Mounting my 1st Whietail.I bucthered the mouth trying to flesh. I mounted it and than epoxyed all around the mouth. What should I do to coler it so it does not look so bad. Should I use dark browm and black, Or just black. Still learning alot. Thanks for anyones help Ric.

If it is your deer You might want to get another cape this fall and try again. By trying to fill in that large of a gap will make the deer look like it is smiling. That is a common mistake for beginners, dont feel bad lots of us have had that happen. If you dont really care how it looks then you might be able to use an off-white then attempt to darken and blend it with a little brown or cocoa. Could it be that your lip slot is too wide also? Maybe try a good beginners video.
