antler in velvet tan versus preserve it

I am going to try to preserve the velvet antlers from two different deer. One with each method. One is a small six point that the customer gave to me along with the cape, and the other is an eight point belonging to a customer. The customer is aware that though I have read how to do this, I have not actually done it yet. I have read the archives and realize that everyone has a different opinion on which method is best. I hope to convince a few people to freeze dry, but the added expense is limiting when you get so many deer in velvet. Since both deer were killed the same day in the same area, and since I have no experience with either method, it should be a good test for the two methods.
Any suggestions?

I'm not sure if your antlers are "soft horned" (the tips are cushiony) but if they are, I'll be very VERY surprised if both methods don't leave your antlers looking as if they have prunes on the tips. I've used it all and none of them work as advertised once the antler is completely dry. Just my opinion, however. Good luck.
