eye size

If a form calls for 26 mm eyes, would I be way off using 28's? I like using synchron capsules and 28 is the smallest used in them.
Thank you

Are you mounting a small deer? You didn't say what you are putting together. When I'm mounting deer. The forms call for a 32 mm eye on most northern deer. I always use a 34mm because the 32's have to small of an iris. They are designed to show the white part of the eye in a finished mount. It isn't an accurate look, it doesn't look unless the eye is rotated. That is why I use the 34mm. The bigger iris looks a lot better and the deer has a natural look. If someone made a good looking eye in a 32mm with normal sized iris it would be great. Then I wouldn't have to ream out the eye opening on the form to fit a 34 in it.

Yes it is a small deer , but when I read the details on the form I thought 26 mm eyes were awful small for a deer with a 17 inch neck. But then again I am very new and I just read what I can and try to remember it all lol. And thanks Dean for what Ya had too offer. I appreciate the advice.
P.S. it is a reasearch mannikan form wich I have never used before, thought maybe thats why the eye size was different?
