I recently attended one of Bill's whitetail workshops at Rick Krane's place in N.H. and it was well worth it! I was impressed with Bill's ability to teach his methods to someone new to this industry, he was patient and very informative. He seems to be able to teach you something regardless of how long you have been in the business.I feel that I gained years of knowledge in a few days and my work took on a new look , I am very pleased with my more recent work since taking his class and would highly recommend it for all skill levels.
While I was there I spoke with Rick quite a bit and realized how much passion he had for mounting fish. I was not really overly interested in fish until I spent time around Rick, his knowledge of fish and the way he spoke about his love for the outdoors peaked my interest in learning to do fish as well .The food Rick prepared was excellent and there was more than enough for everyone , you will definitively eat well. It was comforting to know that the training I was receiving came from two of the best in the industry today and I would like to thank Bill and Rick for the opportunity to be involved with their workshops, I am looking forward to working with them again!

I just got home last night after three days with Bill. I was very humbled, yet inspired. It was well worth the money.
What amazed me was that Bill's methods don't require any more work than what I was doing. Some things were faster and easier, when done Bill's way AND yielded a better result. It's nothing revolutionary; it's all so basic and efficient.
I also got to see first hand why his column is called "Yox Yax." Bill does talk frequently and is alot of fun to be around.
If you want to take your work to the next level go see Bill.
God Bless,

Men of this caliber are hard to come by that often and to be able to call them both "friends" is a honor to me. Just all around GREAT guys.
Any one who says they don't learn allot and have fun doing it with Bill should get checked out for a pulse. And I'm not even talking about the workshop! Bill is just a quality person who gets it not only at a taxidermy level but a person level as well. Bill is a born educator and like all the great ones when he is done with you sharing time and knowledge you walk away knowing you can do it!
Bill is coming back out here to NH in the fall October some time so if you missed him over the summer be there for the fall classic white tail workshop. 3 Students per work shop that's all. That is just about as close as one to one you can get with out driving to bills shop! The food was great the company was great and the nice folks at McKenzie graciously supplied every thing but the horns and the capes!
Ok Now go answer the SMQ's in the fish part of the forums! Good night George! I wish you would come up George you wouldn't get much sleep but you would have a blast! Say Hey to Connie for me!

I attended the seminar in July as well and first I would like to thank Rick for being a good host as well as McKenzie and the other suppliers that sent along forms and supplies.
Bill is certainly a person with a great amount of knowledge and talent, his life revolves around the Whitetail deer. He has a unique and casual teaching style and makes you feel comfortable from the moment you meet him. After completing the the first long day I thought that we had spent an inordinate amount of time on learning how to prep the cape. After getting home, finishing the mount and watching it dry I now understand the importance of proper preparation. The finish product is a huge improvement over my previous work. It was a fun and pleasant learning experience. Thanks again Bill and Rick.

I appreciate the kind words toward me and Rick Fishhead. He sure is a gracious host! I honestly enjoy every student, I just dont post about them in here much, for fear of sounding like a bragger. You all know who you are, and I hope I somehow made you better for it. All you students, as well as soon-to-be students, all have what it takes...drive. You might just need a Rick or Bill to help you with the directions, thats all. Im flattered to be able to help. Eric was the latest, and I enjoyed my three days too! Just remember what I told all of you...the deer is the ultimate teacher to us all. Thanks again!
