There is a new law on the ARKANSAS books.
It is unlawful to waste a fur pelt.
I talked with a game wardens and their interpretations are
"It says you cannot waste a fur pelt. The pelt must be sold, tanned or mounted."

First, they've got to be kidding. What about squirrels? Then again, getting capes might be getting much cheaper.

More than likely, this law applies to furbearers and not to squirrels, deer, and so forth. Of course, this would depend greatly upon which animals are considered legal furbearers in your particular state.

This law applies to ,Bobact, Coyote, Racoon, Mink, Opossum, Beaver, Nutria and Skunk. None of the rodent species, except the Nutria. Really dont think it will drive down the prices of furs any more than they are now. It may even be a good move for taxidermist that want to tan or send tanning away. We shall see. JC
