What about waste disposal? I have not read anything about this subject. Do you all refreeze this for mass disposal? I know
in a few areas some landfills dont accept this waste. Also how
much freezer space does an average taxidermist have?

Bud,
This subject was covered way back ... somewhere. I looked, but don't exactly know where it is. I think we need an "index" Ken, ha-ha! :)
In my own case, I simply wrap up any excess "meat" or other "by-products" and bag them with the regular trash. It's best not to "volunteer" too much information as to what you're disposing of ... for many reasons!
I find it is so bogus that a "landfill" or more correctly ... a garbage dump ... would refuse this refuse! I mean this stuff is as organic as it gets, and will break down in no time ... unlike disposable diapers and styrofoam trash!
As far as I'm concerned the stuff, the "trash" parts we produce, is no different than the trash hauled away from behind restaurants and such, so why do we need to be singled-out as though we were dumping "toxic waste?" If it has to be our "dirty little secret", then don't ask don't tell might just have to be the way to go!
Those with acerage can always "bury the bodies" as it were, on their own place. Imagine the thrill of some future Peleontologist, upon digging up what was once your land, "discovering" the presence of say - a grizzly bear - in Georgia!
Anyway, there's one same old opinion on this thorny issue. Glad you brought it up again, Bud. Best regards ... John B.

Bud, i also put most of my "leftovers" in the trash. since trash collection day is thurs. all meat, trimmings, heads, etc....go into the freezer untill then. they are aware of what they are picking up,but have never said anything. with some larger carcasses like mtn. lion,or moose and elk heads. ive drove up into the mountains and tossed them out for the birds and coyotes. this seems like a more befitting end for these critters than the dump. Most goes to the freezer till trash day. I have seen a few that are picked up for no charge by rendering plants, what they make out of it I dont have a clue.
I to do feed the ditch at times, you should dee the pretty coyotes it produces!!!!! Dont tell the trash men unless forced to do so. Wash your garbage cans weekly.

I have found a dog sled team (with 70 dogs) that will come and pick up
all that I can get them. They boil everything up and mix it with the dog
food. We also have earned a couple of dog sled rides with them this winter
as an added bonus! Good Luck!
