I live in Md.state and would like to use these beetles for skull cleaning ,rather thanmacerationor boiling.
Forget scientific supplies, can i buy them from taxidermy supply house or can they be caught in wild. Now the dumb part of the question --what do they look like ?
thanks alot Paul

Paul I just started a colony of beetles you cannot buy them from a taxidermy supllier. The beetles go through like five different stages before they are adults. The adults are about a quarter inch long and are black. As far as catching them in wild i dont think i would if i didnt know what they looked like. If you are doing taxidermy work i dont think you want these guys around they are very hard to kill and they eat everthing. You can call me if you like (406-395-4651) or e mail me i be glad to talk to you about them
