If any of you happen to be a taxidermist in Texas and would like to help me figure out what it is I need to do completely to get set up legaly for my new Taxidermy ,then please email me. I have got my tax id info started but everytime time I turn around I hear of something else I might need to get or do. Please help if you can.

Hi Sean. Hope I can help. No taxidermy license is required in Texas. All you need to open shop is a place to do it. You'll be required to collect sales tax so a sales tax permit from the State Comptroller is required as in any business. If you live in an incorporated area, the city may require that you meet certain zoning requirements at your place of business. City hall can answer that for you. If you plan on doing any migratory birds, you'll need a federal permit from US Fish and Wildlife as well. Just curious . . . what city are you in or near? hope this helps. Jerry S
