Do I need to add fiberglass to the bondo To me this is a simple
way to do ears, because I sometimes tear the ear cartilage when
removing it. Or if theres a better way that's makes the job look
good please help.

Tony,
You need to take the cartilage out of the ear for earliners, but not for bonded ears. Leave the cartilage in...then use it to sculpt the ear afore the bondo kicks. For a better ear, put a small amount of resin (along with the hardner) in and mix well. Then add some fiberglass chop to the whole mixture. It seems to help hold the bondo together when putting it into the ear and makes a stronger ear. Hope this helps.

Tony,
PLEASE, visit the archives. Bondo is a dent filler and I've never, EVER seen a Bondo ear that didn't look like one. Look at one that 5 or 10 years old, and tell me you don't see any problems.

I have one that is 14 years old done with bondo and there are no problems with the ears. If they are done right, they should last.

I have used some ear liners with the cartlidge and still not had any problems.
ITS all skin prep prior to application. John C

I use bondo ears for some earliners for others. When done RIGHT bondo looks fine and does not drum!! If it isn't working for you I would say ear prep deficiency!!

I dont try to talk the "bodyfillers" out of doing the bondo method, but there no way you can get bondo as thin as a real cartilage, and thats what looks good to me. I dont care for how the hair wraps around the edge at the top edge of the ear, either. But, to each his own, I guess...A friend of mine tells me how he used to like using sheet lead, too, and I really bet he could do a great job with it. Damn, those earliners sound better all the time...
