I just finished my first shoulder mount and would like to thank everyone for their assistance. However, I am concerned. When I was sewing up my incision, I noticed the deer shedding as I was handling the hide. Should I be concerned with this?

Was your deer just losing a small amount of hair like a dog shedding?
Or was it coming out in clumps? If it was clumps you had hair slippage
Which as you probably know is caused by bacteria. You need to make
sure you get your deer skinned and salted as quickly as possible. And
when you rehydrate it make sure you use a bacteriacide in your water.
Always keep a close eye on your ph balance of your acid pickle bath.
