shovellor ducks

Submitted by Gordon Miller on 12/17/99. ( Gordon.miller@cwcom.net ) 195.44.2.96

I am 16 and live in the UK. I have only mounted a few things in the past with average success. I have been given 2 drake shovellor ducks to mount. If any kind person out there would like to give me advice or instruction or email it to me I would be very grateful. I would also like any suggestions on mounting them and the scenery around them.

Thanks

Shouvler Drakes

Have done some, and to me flying right or left banked hard is the
best mounts to show off all their colors. After cleaning and prepairing to mount, the key is to make them look natural. Here, use
any good reference material of flyint ducks. It absolutely doesn't
have to be a picture of a shouveler though it would be nice. The key
is good posture and feather placement. When sewing up your mount,
use fiber fill material to finish filling the body cavity. Be careful
not to overfill. Make it look natural. After drying and painting,
put any artificial plants accustomed to your area. You can get these
from any local hobby shop. This will really dress up your mount and
is relatively inexpensive. Haven't gone in detail with anything, but
hope it will help you some.
