I'am tanning a deer cape with curatand they next thing i notice i have major shrinkage i can just berley get my fist through the darn thing i need serious help quick

Ok now did you follow all the directions to the T? If so great rehydrate the skin and restretch. But now here comes the real questions for you. Did you pickle the hide? Did you shave the hide down thin? If not rehydrate the skin and shave it, it will gain more stretch to it. This is the main culprit with curatan, not having a thin hide. Man what shrinkage I had LOL.( don't laugh George but I had 1/2 -3/4 in seams when they dried lol) I used it when I was just learnig and found out how bad my hides would shrink. Then as I learned(fast) more about taxidermy and how to shave down the hides my shrinkage became much less to almost nothing. But then I switched to Liqua-tan. Found out it gave me more of what I wanted a hide to do. But I do feel that your hide is not thinned downed enough.
