With alot of new names popping up here again, I just wanted to let you guys know that alot of your questions are very thoroughly answered in past threads. PLEASE take the time to read back on ALL the threads, I'm STILL backreading and I got this computer last Jan!! I feel like I'll never catch up on it. It takes alot of time but it's well worth it. The past threads are filled with unbelievably good information and lots of good laughs and you'll even find a little bit of fisticuffs here and there!!! You're missing out if you dont read back!!! Have fun and plan on some late nites!!

Leanna,
I'm sorry that you feel badly about new names, because I'm one of those new names. I'm a vendor that has been selling taxidermists that have found me for 20 years. After reading and seriously following the net for a while, I have noticed that there is a lack of knowledge of basic chemistry and safety in many cases. I realize that there are many, many taxidermists out there with the message about safety and other concerns. However, it "really concerns me" that some of the taxidermists do not really know what they are dealing with handling some products. I would be morally remiss and selfish not to speakup about such dangers. New people bring new prespectives to things, and maybe knowledge that has not been yet imparted to the forum. Why would we want to stiffel the interaction of ideas and viewpoints. One thing that's true is that most people is that they are reluctant to change. "If my grandfather did it this way it must be OK, or if it ain't broke don't fix it. So what if it takes me three times as long as the guy using the new stuff. "Hell thats expensive". Maybe the deduction should be that my time is worth little or nothing. Well "Balogna", we now cross the country in cars, planes and trains: and not covered wagons. Not that we couldn't! There is a good chance that even if a subject has been discussed before, there will be a different viewpoint how to address the problem. Your correct that the archives have alot to offer, but the subject areas for the questions are hard to find in a hurry, the titles, subjects, and the end discussions are not easily identifiable to reference. It is just easilier to just ask the question. I'm sure that someone will freely answer, including you. This is a wonderful offering that the people of WASCO give us, the free exchange of information, good or bad. Please contribute and give us your knowledge and viewpoints to grow from. I'm sure I'll learn from what you have to offer and everyone else interested.

After re-reading your comments I realize that I misinterputed what you said. Which is to not forego information in the archives. I apologize for that, but I still feel that it takes everybody's imput to amke the forum work.

We did cover all these topics in the past and because alot of us are getting tired of saying it in triplicate, we are suggesting that you go back and read the dated stuff, or archives, to find answers before you ask in what looks to be repetitive, even though its the first time for you! Our concern is that we are getting to the point where we may not give the detailed answer you desire and dont want to short change you, yet if we suggest, as in the past, to scroll down, we are looked at as not willing to help. I personally would say, find it, its in here, we cant make it TOO easy, but then someone might be offended, so I wont. (I hope you saw the humor.) Anyway, The other Steve, if you arent sure about something, like to check old threads, etc, go ahead and ask. Its hard to keep up with the new terms related to these computers, too. We really enjoy helping so please just ask. I know many just feel stupid asking, well think of all the guys besides you who want to know, who you'd help by asking so they could read the answer you get! Theres no such thing as a stupid question, they say...I guess unless no one will ask it! To the other Steve, yup, those safety issues are covered in those early posts(threads) as well. I guess I just wanted to kinda reitterate on what my buddy Leanna said, and not have someone miss info because we know its been covered and become lax about answering again. Please dont feel we are not helpful, OK? Also, check out the chat in the evenings, we are usually there to help or just gab...and it doesnt matter who does the best work, either, we are all artists! See ya there.

I knew my post would be misinterpretated(spelling)by some. I totally and completely did not mean to come across in a negative way AT ALL, I ONLY wanted to let newcomers,(of which I still am by all means), know about past threads, no other way to put it. Really, no offense. I enjoy it, I want you to enjoy it, plain and simple. Bill nailed it right on the head with the "not detailed enough answer your looking for" thing "because its been answered befor". I just didn't word it right. Okay guys!!? Just dont want you to miss out on whats already out there, because it might be a pain in the "ahem "to go back to. Thats all! And of course it takes everybodies feedback to make the forum work.

Im not sure where the assumption that I feel badly about new names came about, so I thought I should clarify that that is not the case at all. Again my apologies for my assumed meanings.

see my response under beginners about the freeze dry, the third response about your hummingbird reference. No group anything with you, and does your --- really hum? How did you find out it did? Just wondering, you bird guys are different...see ya on the chat. How 'bout those deer tongues!
This response submitted by Leanna on 6/27/99. ( )
Patrick, you sure do give those kisses out freely lately!!
Deer tongues?!...hmmmmmm.....!
This response submitted by Patrick Rummans on 6/27/99. ( birdspec@lewistown.net )
You just bring out the beast in me Leanna . . .and it's Bill who's into deer tongues - I read it in the Inquirer, so it has to be true. Ask him about it sometime, he's talks very freely about his obsessions ... he's always asking me about my hummingbird ass - I think that's a little personal don't you? LMHAO (Laughing My Hummingbird Ass Off)
Kisses,
Patrick

...does he scare YOU, too? Ha ha ha!

I think you are a bit confused on the computer phrases. I believe
you are trying to call this and past messages as threads. You
post your comments. You do NOT thread a comment. You thread
your taxidermy needle I suppose, but not your comments. They are
posted. You may go ahead and POST your come backs if you wish.
I'll come back and check, seeing how I get a dollar each for the
funny things I find on the web. Oh Yeah thanks for last weeks
fat check......LMAO......
This response submitted by Bill on 6/28/99. ( )
OK, I read it, like you said. No, I wouldnt bother, either. Now I know what you mean...

Not that Ken doesn't have enough to do, but a search engine would be really nice. Sometimes I've spent twenty minutes going through the archives looking for something that I know is there, but I still can't find it! And, it's not getting any easier as the archives expand!
Anyone else agree?

Kinda thought somebody would like the idea!
This response submitted by Michelle on 6/30/99. ( thereeds@terraworld.net )
No, that's a GREAT idea , but like you said - Ken is a busy guy and I'm thankful for what he has already given us. Maybe we could just put that on our Christmas wish list? See you all in the chat room!

John, its a great idea, I was just afraid to respond again!
This response submitted by Ken Edwards on 7/2/99. ( ken@taxidermy.net )
Yes, a search engine for the Taxidermy Net Forums would be great and I do hope to eventually create one, but it will take a lot of work.
In the meantime, here's a great technique that I use when searching for a subject within a category menu. Use the "FIND" command in your browser to search for any text in an article title. Depending upon your browser, the FIND function may be a toolbar button, or it may be located within the Edit menu. Just type in what you are looking for, and if any articles have your text in their title, they will be highlighted.

Thanks for the tip, Ken. The "find" command works great! Never even knew it was there.
