Clean eyes

Submitted by Rob on 6/30/99. ( )

I use a water base paint to air brush around the eyes on my deer
heads . But when I go to clean the over spray off , I some times take
off the paint arond the eye lid . Is there any tricks out there
that can make this task any easier.

thanks Rob

Couple of things you can do. One is to paint latex mold over your eye, then peel it off when done. Or seal your paint with your sealer let dry over night and carefully remove wit a q-tip with windex on it. Or use a soft paint brush.

Eye Protector

Rob, many supply com. sell a product called EYE PROTECTOR, simply paint over glass eye before painting-let dry-then do your airbrush work. Once you are done painting, the eye protector can easily be removed with a pointed object such as a toothpick. I even paint the eye with this product before I apply hide paste during the mounting process, it's easier than trying to remove that sticky glue from the glass eyes.Caution- there is a special eye protector for plastic eyes,so read the labels.
