Just wondering what kind of shelf life could be expected form a good commerially tanned hide before it is used for the mount. thanks.

Ron, too many variables to give a cut and dried answer, but to be safe, if you're not going to mount it within a few months, store it in the freezer. Some people soak up the skins first, less freezer room used plus they will be sweated better when you thaw them out to mount. Or you can just get them wet tanned to begin with, and keep them in the freezer any way. Keith
