Use card board

Hey I did one that was over 220 lbs once, found dead in the Miss. river. I had two choices carve out of blue boat dock sytro foam or pour, I choose pour in a card board mold. It is way easier to work cardboard, and a hole lot cheaper.

Have you ever glue 2 inch blue or pink polysyrene foam togather with laquer thinner? This may be a option also. It does form a unbreakable bond and you can glue up what ever you need. Glue smaller pieces to the end for curves and such. Good luck JC

Thanks John

John, did you put a block in the form? If you did, did you put it in while making the pour or bondo it in after.

Another option:

Years ago while living in Georgia and mounting gar, I mounted some large ones by filling with sawdust, installed a wooden block at that time and after the things were dried, cut a hole in the back side, emptied saw dust out of a section, poured in polyester resin, rotated the fish around for a good coating inside. When the resin set up, repeated this activity again and again until the saw dust was all removed and the inside of the mount was coated with resing and there were resing/saw dust supports inside the beast. That's an option you might try on the big ones you have. Might be easier than carving. I'm not sure if you emptied the saw dust and poured foam in if that would work, you might need plenty of exit holes for 'excess' foam. Good luck.
