PAINT THINNING?

Submitted by DAVE M. on 3/4/1999. ( )

I'm using the WASCO paint sheet for pheasents. When painting the beak Iget all the light colors on , but when I go to put the final light coat of brown my paint seems to sputter more than the lighter colors.Should I or can I thin the water base paint (polytranspar) with water or something else to stop the sputtering. I clean my double action Pashe before each new color. thanks.

You can thin your paint down with water. maybe try running alittel
paint thinner threw airbrush to clean it better or adjusting your
air pressure. I like to before I put paint in my jars to filter it
over ascreen or old nylon this will catch the lumps that like to clog it
up.

Thining Water Based Paints

Rubbing alcohol works very well for thinning WA paints. I use it exclusively for thinning WA paints for fish painting, whenever a thinner paint is needed. According to Tom Sexton, air brush paints should be thinned to the consistancy of "skim milk" for best results. Give it a try. I'm anxious to hear your results. Bob P.
