Submitted by leanna on 3/5/1999. ( scardeer@cornernet.com )

I missed the '97 show and I really wanat to go to this years world show. Ive reserved the room, hubby got 2 days off work, got a kids, dog, house-sitter lined up, got a car lined up (our piece of artwork wouldnt get us 20 miles let alone 1200 miles round trip)we cant really afford this but could with the attitude of "oh what the hell" kind of thing, so if any of you would care to tell me about previous world shows and maybe talk me into spending all this money and treating ourselves to go...I'd appreciate it. wondering if its worth it or if maybe I should start out with something closer to home??! I Really want to attend the seminars so does anyone care to shoot the bull about all this?!! Thanks guys, Leanna

Leanna, the Worlds are know doubt worth it...If you ever want or need to get motivated the Worlds is the place. The seminars are second to none, the people you'll meet there are great. But most of all is the awesome taxidermy, just about every animal you can imagine is mounted. This will be my fourth World show andI wish I didn't miss the 97' show but I couldn't help that one.But don't just take my word for it ... I'm sure you'll get more answers on this topic that will support what I've just said.I'll be there look for me ... I'll be the guy with the antlers strapped to his head...Ha Ha

Its simply worth the money.

It is simply worth the money. The seminars you will get will pay for it and remember, if you are a commercial taxidermist, most of this is tax deductable.

This will be my sixth wprl, been to 5 nationals, untold Southern Regionals. And a whole lot more state.

I know that I owe 90% of my taxidermy education to these shows. And the QUALITY of your mounts will reflect as soon as you get back. Take notes, ask questions of instructors, listen to critiques on others mounts. You will learn a lot.

Hope to see you there. John C

One more vote for the WORLD!!!!!

97 World show was my first time attending show other than state show here in Michigan. Also attended Nationals that same year. The world show was awesome to say the least, spend the money and go you'll love it, guaranteed!!! I guess I don't have much to say about nationals and I'll leave it at that. See ya there! Paul

My piece of artwork has 136,000 on her. What's another 600-700 and 2 qts of oil? I'll be there!

P.S. If you see an old Dodge van on I55 please stop and help the poor fellow.

This response submitted by leanna on 3/7/1999. ( )

Yo John! Bet you dont have to tell the kids to be careful wear they step on the floor of the backseat just so they dont fall thru the rust holes onto the hiways!! Its so nice to know other people drive pieces of sheet too!! Have a safe drive to springfield!!!! I'll keep an eye out!

I was just wondering...

This response submitted by Bill on 3/7/1999. ( yoxtax@aol.com )

Hey Dean, would you figure my seminar is gonna be "second" or "none?" (the seminars are second to none) Just wondering. HECK YEAH you ALL should go to the world show! Just to meet all the suppliers you do business with makes it worth the money spent. Oh mines an '83 Ford...

I was just wondering, Bill....

Guess your eye still is bothering you because I'm not sure you read
second to none correctly. We had a great time meeting you at the
CAT show hope to see you soon in NJ. Take care Brian and Denise

The brighter side of rust holes

This response submitted by Too Embarrassed on 3/9/1999. ( )

Those rust holes will not only provide good drainage if you leave your windows open in a thunderstorm, but will also give the kids hours of entertainment by dropping stuff down them and then watching them bounce down the highway! I know I did.(and still would if I have the holes!)
