a beginner such as yourself...

This response submitted by Bill on 12/16/1998. ( yoxtax@aol.com )

...should start by looking at the listings on the forum. The questions asked are usually in triplecit because folks arent trying to find answers for themselves. Shawn, that may not apply to you, but it was a good time to mention it again. As a beginner, there's a ton of info in these postings and I would really incourage you to take some time to scroll back and read some, even if you take a few each time you have the chance at the computer. A few days ago Lonnie Travis asked the exact same thing you did, scroll back a couple and read on. If you need more help and havent found it in the prior listings, post it and one of the folks reading here will try to help. Some times very basic 'non-taxidermy' tools work fine, in fact very few tools are designed for the tax. industry, we kinda borrow from other applications. Any tools you need can be found in the catologs of companies listed in the taxidermy.net site, such as the host, WASCO or McKenzie supply. Good luck, OK?

A third grade english book!!!

Bellucci, I saved you from typing, this coconut.

Please Don't Do Me Any Favors!

This response submitted by John Bellucci on 12/16/1998. ( ArtistExpr@aol.com )

Hey Jim,

Please, if you're going to go after someone, leave my name off of your posting. I can do enough damage to myself, thank you, and really don't appreciate someone putting me "out there" like that.

It has been done on other occasions, but they were more in a fun way, not in a personal snipe.

If you respect me, please allow ME to make an ass of myself, and don't do me any favors. Thanks... John B.

DA!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mr. Angott

If you feel the need to critique someones english and
grammar abilities, I would do a little research of my own.
To correct "your" grammar it is not apunctuation marks,
it's "punctuation" period.
As for your answer to the question Shawn had, I didn't
see one! So do us all a favor and keep your smart a$$
remarks to yourself. Cary

Everybody has one!

Shawn

I was in the same boat as you a couple years ago. I don't
profess to be a "master" taxidermist but I'm doing pretty good for myself. So, if you have a question about tools to get started with e-mail me and I'll try to help. That way you don't have to put up with some of the a$$holes on here. It's a shame that a forum designed to help the taxidermist has gotten to this, however speaking for myself the answer you got from Mr. Angott was an exception not the rule. It has been my experience that most on here are more than willing to answer your questions. You just have to wade through the bullcrap from time to time.

Me too

This response submitted by Travis on 12/16/1998. ( Ltravis580@aol.com )

Shawn don`t sweat it man. I did the same thing when I found this site. After i made a few post I started seeing that all I had to do to answer most of my questions was read the past threads...There is a world of information here with experts in the field helping us new-comers out. Hope ya stick around...

JB, this is tempting, but...

This response submitted by Bill on 12/16/1998. ( yoxtax@aol.com )

To John B, that was tempting, but you know how that is! To all, let's assume JA is just having fun and we mistook it. I know that I kid about the grammar and punctuation, but note that I usually point the finger at ME, or my whipping boy buddy Bob C. If we can help guys like Shawn or Lonnie lets do it, they, in time, will read into our words and know who is kidding and who spoke out of line. Sometimes we are actually talking to guys who are new at tax. but not new to life. And, sometimes the guy we are talking to is 13 years old. Keep that in mind. Ken has had to pull so many postings lately, lets not bring this great tool to that level. But dont be afraid to have fun, though. Keep a sense of humor if you can.

No... I Really Meant It

This response submitted by John Bellucci on 12/17/1998. ( ArtistExpr@aol.com )

Hey Bill,

I really meant it when I asked not to be drawn in to someone's "crack" on someone else. I don't want to become the standard for that kind of thing, really.

There have been some major things going on in my life right now (mostly involving my pop's failing health), and I'd just assume not get dragged in on someone else's "thing".

So let's all just try to be helpful. Best to all... John B.

Mr. Angott is Sorry

This response submitted by J. Angott on 12/17/1998. ( )

To all involved,
I am very sorry, for the comments I made. Bill was right, I was just joking around. I hope Shawn finds what he is looking for. John I didn't mean to dis-respect you in any way and I hope your "pop's" health is better. This is the greatest tool in our trade or hobby, this forum. You have all helped me beyond any video or book I have ever seen. I promise to keep the smart ass comments to myself. Carry, you couldn't be more right. I deserved the AS@#$#Hole remark.
Sorry and it wont happen again.
JIM

I can take it

This response submitted by Cary on 12/17/1998. ( )

Jim:

I can take what ever anyone can dish out, I enjoy joking around and sometimes very amused at the postings that appear from time to time. However, I think Shawn is new to this forum (as has been previosly said) and may not know what to think of such a comment. I do believe you didn't mean to offend him but if it were me I would have been. Now that Shawn knows that we all are a bit "nuts" he may want to join in on the fun, or run to the nearest cave and hide..ha ha..
Lets all have some fun and enjoy what we do, if you can't enjoy what you do, then why do it? Cary

Hey Bill

Maybe this will help you. Buy all the information you can afford. This seems to be the best tool I have found.
